Steven W. Hiscoe



Steven Hiscoe began his martial arts training in 1975 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He achieved the rank of Shodan in Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu in 1983.

  • Member, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) - 18 year veteran
  • Director, Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Union
  • Instructor Trainer, RCMP Public and Police Safety Instructor program
  • Founder and Chief Instructor, Hiscoe Jiu-Jitsu Western Canada
  • Instructor, University College of the Fraser Valley - Criminal Justice Program







Past Endeavours


Steve Hiscoe has:

  • produced a resource video on Defensive Tactics for all Public and Police Safety Instructors in the RCMP
  • issued over 30 Black Belt promotions - up to 5th degree (dan).
  • recieved the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal
  • participated in the Grading Board that promoting Georges Sylvain, founder of Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, to 10th dan
  • created the RCMP Auxiliary Program Personal Protection Techniques program including the video supplement
  • successfully built a network of jiu-jitsu clubs and schools throughout Western Canada
