Steven Hiscoe began his martial arts training in 1975 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
He achieved the rank of Shodan in Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu in 1983.

Past Endeavours
Steve Hiscoe has:
- produced a resource video on Defensive Tactics for all Public and Police Safety Instructors in the RCMP
- issued over 30 Black Belt promotions - up to 5th degree (dan).
- recieved the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal
- participated in the Grading Board that promoting Georges Sylvain, founder of Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, to 10th dan
- created the RCMP Auxiliary Program Personal Protection Techniques program including the video supplement
- successfully built a network of jiu-jitsu clubs and schools throughout Western Canada
